What's In a Name?

The name "8Signs" came after a search through the more familiar Greek and Latin terms reflecting strength and security. Widening the search to terms related to Buddhism, the 8 Auspicious Signs were found. One of them is the "Precious Parasol", an umbrella that protects from all harmful forces. It is a concept borrowed from India, where the parasol was a traditional symbol of protection and royalty. Seeing how it had already been borrowed, we figured nobody would mind if it was used as an analogy for computer security.
